Work Update:
The Campbell Thomas & Co. design team, including TPW Design Studios, Jeff Case, PE and RETTEW Assoc., Inc., are working on preliminary design of the trail extension and the proposed culvert which will create an underpass at Radnor-Chester Road. It is still anticipated that Preliminary Design documents will be submitted to PennDOT in May 2017. PennDOT is reviewing the Borings Plan, related to the culvert work. The Phase 1 Environmental Review is substantially complete. 

Meeting Updates:

  • A public walking tour of the Radnor Trail Extension was conducted on March 25th to address questions or concerns of residents living along the trail extension. Adjacent residents, representatives of the design team and Township staff attended.
  • Radnor Township met with the DCNR Regional Representative to discuss the April 12, 2017 Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2) Grant application for construction funding of the Radnor Trail Extension. The Radnor Board of Commissioners provided a resolution for submission of the grant application. The Township prepared and submitted the application.  It included funding requests for additional design and construction work for trail related improvements to Cappelli Golf Range and Encke Park.
  • On April 6th, the first Public Workshop for the Radnor Trail Extension was held at 6:30pm as part of the Radnor Township Parks and Recreation Board meeting at the Township Building. A number of questions and concerns were raised by those attending. They were recorded and will be taken into consideration as the trail design work moves forward.   Community Questions & Answers
