Motor Vehicle Theft and Attempted Theft
Thursday March 2, 2017
The Radnor Police are investigating two overnight motor vehicle theft incidents. In the 500 block of Conestoga Rd (Villanova section) at 0457 hours, a female homeowner observed a black male, thin build, rummaging through a parked Range Rover in their driveway. A second Mercedes vehicle was parked next to and running. The homeowner ran and awoke her husband who came outside to now observe the black male in the driver seat of the Mercedes and starting to reverse out of the driveway. The homeowner jumped in the passenger seat of the Mercedes and engaged in a verbal exchange. The black male then put the vehicle in park and exited running on foot east on Conestoga Rd. K9 tracked to the area of Conestoga Rd and 320 where the scent was lost.
At 0723 hours, a homeowner reported that their 2014 Jeep Wrangler (4 door) was taken from an unlocked detached garage sometime overnight. A neighbor reported hearing voices in their driveway between 0400-0500. The 2014 Jeep Wrangler was all black in color, had a modified exhaust system and Platoon Fitness graphics on the doors and roof. This incident took place in the unit block of Browns Lane which is in close proximity of the Conestoga Rd attempt. The homeowner was in possession of both sets of keys and it is believed that the actor used a valet key from inside the glove compartment.
