SEPTA Station Closure & Construction

Norristown High Speed Line – Stadium Station (Ithan Avenue).  Starting on Monday, March 12, 2018 and lasting approximately nine (9) – twelve (12) months, SEPTA and third party contractors will begin building the new ADA accessible Stadium Station. In order to complete construction safely, there will be NO SERVICE at SEPTA’s NHSL Stadium Station (Ithan Avenue) for the entirety of this project.  As an alternate, customers should use Villanova Station (St. Thomas Way & Lancaster Avenue) for service to/from 69th Street Transportation Center & Norristown Transportation Center.  As part of SEPTA’s Rebuilding the System program, this initiative focuses on renewal and reconstruction at customer facilities, as well as travel amenity enhancements at transit stations. SEPTA’s Stadium Station (Ithan Avenue) improvements will include new high-level accessible platforms, customer waiting shelters, retaining walls, signage & lighting upgrades, sidewalk pavement, landscaping and fencing.  Throughout this reconstruction project, work will be performed on both the inbound and outbound platforms of Stadium Station. Residents in the area may notice light construction noise and vehicle sounds including back up alerts, and construction lighting. Residents, pedestrians and motorists in the area are reminded to be aware of their surroundings near construction work and observe all posted signage.  SEPTA greatly appreciates your patience and understanding while this important construction project is completed.  For more information on the Stadium Station project, please visit  This website provides information and updates on the following areas: Scope of work, Construction Sequence & Planning, and Schedule.  Contact Meghan Babcock, Constituent & Community Relations Coordinator  SEPTA Public and Government Affairs
