RTV Internships


Unpaid internship positions (spring, summer, fall and winter) available to qualified students pursuing a course of study in television / video production. RTV, Radnor Township's Government Access Channel, provides news and information to nearly 13,000 cable and FiOS subscribers within the township.The ideal candidate will have interest in all aspects of video production, on-site and remotely. The work schedule is flexible and requires a minimum of 12 hours per week, including some evening hours.While interning at RTV, students will be exposed to the operations and procedures of a local government television and production studio, including live broadcasts and in the field shoots.


The internship will be mainly project-based, allowing you to work independently part of the time and exercise some creative freedom. (We want you to work with us, not just for us!) Projects can be somewhat tailored to your experience and interests, although our primary needs are for someone to help with:

  • Capturing video, voice-overs, and/or photographs
  • Editing video projects and/or photographs
  • Storyboarding to plan for capturing optimal footage
  • Brainstorming for creative ways to shoot video projects
  • Assisting during live broadcasts and studio productions
  • Script writing
  • Producing public service announcements
  • Creating video / computer graphics
  • Operating cameras / assisting on field shoots

  • Experience shooting digital video (applicants need not be experts, but should have some experience)
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic (punctuality is a must)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to produce quality work, both independently and as a team
  • Ability to take direction while also sharing and implementing new ideas
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a diverse workload
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Final Cut Pro is not required, but is a major plus
