Permits, Licenses & Fees

Construction permits are required for most types of work and all contractors must be licensed with Radnor Township. Please contact the Department of Community Development to find out which types of work need permits.

Requirements

• Effective July 25, 2022 two (2) sets of plans and two (2) sets of permit applications are required on all submittals.
• Two (2) sets of Engineered or Architectural plans must be submitted with all applications, unless not required by the Code Official.
• Contractors submitting building permit applications are required to submit ALL sub-contractor permit applications at the same time as the building permit application.
• In accordance with the Uniform Construction Code (Act 45) a $4.50 surcharge will be added to each permit issued for building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work.
• HVAC Contractors are advised of the following:
  • All information requested on the Mechanical / HVAC permit application must be provided or the permit will not be issued.
  • Complete applications for permits must be submitted to the Department of Community Development and shall include all required information.
  • All permits issued are required to have field inspections by a Code Official. The contractor is responsible for notifying the Code Official for an inspection of work, and the contractor must accompany the Code Official during the field inspection.
  • Emergency inspections will be handled on a call 1st basis. If work is done without permits 1st being obtained, administrative actions may be taken.

Inspections

All inspections, with exception of electrical work, will be done be a Radnor Township Code Official.
