The purpose of this project is to reduce flooding on South Wayne Avenue by the Firehouse and Middle School.  The flood Reduction Project is designed to vastly improve South Wayne Avenue during this storm, reducing flooding from "feet" to "inches".  The project entails:

• Using the area beneath the South Wayne Parking Lot for storage and slow release of runoff.
• Adding additional inlets on South Wayne Avenue to capture runoff and convey it to the subsurface system under the parking lot.
• Installing storm sewer piping to convey runoff to the underutilized stormwater management system under the Middle School playing fields.
• Rebuilding the parking lot, with grass islands, plantings, and solar powered lighting.
