The Office of Community Engagement is a division of the Radnor Township Police Department that exists to build and foster positive police-community relations through communications, programs, partnerships, and volunteer opportunities. We believe by creating strong relationships and working together, our residents and law enforcement officers can establish a better foundation of trust, help to proactively address public safety concerns.

Here are a few of the programs we offer:

Town Watch Program One of the best ways community members can become actively engaged with RPD is through the Town Watch Program. Town Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of residents, in cooperation with law enforcement, to reduce crime and victimization in communities.

Ride-Alongs To understand what our officers do during a shift, sign up for a Ride-Along. This experience will give you an inside look at police work during a six-hour shift.

Speaking Engagements You may also request an officer to speak with your school, civic group, business, or faith organization.

Citizen Police Academy To get an in-depth understanding of RPD, we invite you to participate in RPD’s Police Citizens’ Academy, which is held annually. It consists of an 8 week program with classroom discussions, community partnership sessions, ride-alongs with police officers, and hands-on demonstrations.
