The Township's low crime rate has consistently won it recognition as one of the safest places to live in the Philadelphia Region. In 2021, the majority of incidents requiring police response in the Township involve motor vehicle violations (6,726), unlocked businesses and other nuisance and noncriminal complaints and requests for service (12,403), alarm signals (1,582), motor vehicle accidents (804), and animal complaints (451).
Serious Crime Rate
In 2021, the incidence of thefts and other serious crimes (including theft, fraud, and missing person) was 531. Larcenies, burglaries, assault and auto theft was 111 incidents. Secondary offenses (such as vandalism, disorderly conduct, DUI, and narcotics possession) was 214 incidents in 2021.
